Envisioned as a “garden city” by insurance tycoon and founder John D. MacArthur, Palm Beach Gardens was built around existing trees and the landscape filled in with ornamental greenery and more trees. Notably, two banyan trees were also transplanted to Palm Beach Gardens, both of which are still standing at MacArthur Boulevard.

Today, Palm Beach Gardens is a popular golfing destination. The city is proudly home to the PGA National Resort, the headquarters of the Professional Golf Association of America, in addition to several other golf communities including BallenIsles Country Club, Frenchman’s Creek, and Frenchman’s Reserve, among others.
